Hi, Friends, while the Southern Festival of Books is underway in Nashville, it seems like a good time to showcase the songs I've written that were inspired by literature or contain literary references. Some of them may surprise you! My songwriting is not only influenced by songwriters I admire (Kris Kristofferson, Randy Newman, Roger Miller) but also by authors, playwrites, poets and journalists including Hemingway, Faulkner, James Lee Burke, Everette Maddox and Hunter S. Thompson. This show also precedes an online session I'll host later in the week for the Festival featuring Jesse Graves, Clay Matthews and Anna Sutton.
